AGAP uses a CNC controlled grinding machine, specially suited for special one off cams, prototypes and smaller series. Toghether with our simulation capabilities the time from idea to a finished grinded cam is short.

Specification of grinding capabilities
Length of camshaft 0-800 mm (0- 31.5”)
Diameter of camshaft Maximum grinding diameter 250 mm (10”)
Grinding wheel Diameter 400 mm (16”)
When grinding camlobes with concave surfaces the machine can be fitted with a smaller grinding wheel with a minimum diameter of 80mm (3”)
It is also possible to grind other details and shapes, for example masterlobes for grinding machines that uses such.
Grinding of camshafts
We grind most types of camshafts, from single prototypes to small series. It can be done to your specification, or we can also do the design.
The cams can be manufactured in three ways:
1. Regrinding the stock camshaft 2. Grinding on new new camcores
3. Manufacturing new cams in steel
The most suitable method is determined with respect to price, availability of camcores and
the design constraints.
